Glimpses of Heaven

Heaven is a very real and magnificent place

that God has prepared for those who place their faith

in Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

How do I know it is magnificent?

Three years ago this very week,

Les and I, along with my sister, Debbie, and her husband, Robbie,

had the opportunity to fly out to Big Sky, Montana.

The generosity of some precious friends who

allowed us to stay in their home there

made this possible for us.

It was such special time.

Honestly, I believe with all my heart that it was a God-ordained and Spirit-led trip.

Not once that entire week was there even a hint of unrest between the four of us.

Our not-to-be-broken bond was strengthened in ways we didn’t even realize at the time.

It was a step of faith for us to take this trip.

Les had to re-schedule a chemo appointment

and we went well prepared with medical records just in case.

Every time I think of this trip, I am humbled.

The majesty of the God who spoke this world into being swells my very being.

How anyone can look at this creation we call Earth

and not believe there is a God boggles my mind.

The book of Romans even tells us that we are without excuse because of this creation.

I am eternally thankful we were able to take that trip to Montana.

We had absolutely no idea that in just a few short months,

Les would leave us to receive his heavenly reward.

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial,

because when he has stood the test,

he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.”

(James 1:12)

Until the time as God calls me home,

I will continue to be awed by His handiwork

and grateful for the glimpses of heaven He daily provides.

Lots of love, Sharon
