Such an important part of life.
To be without hope has to be the worse.
Was this a day without hope for the disciples of Jesus?
The man they believed was the promised Messiah is dead!
He lays in a borrowed tomb.
Dead. Dead. Dead.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way!!!!
The Messiah was expected to come and usurp the Roman control.
Israel was to be free.
Instead, they are cowered in an upper room,
fearful for their own lives.
Jesus had tried to tell them He must die.
But, for some reason, they just didn’t get it.
After all, that wasn’t how they’d been told it would happen.
Now their hope is smashed.
All that time wasted.
They didn’t realize that HOPE did remain.
At the break of the next day,
Jesus will defy death.
He will be resurrected!!!
Maybe you are experiencing the emptiness caused by the death of a loved one.
But, as believers in Jesus Christ, there is hope.
Hope of seeing them again.
Hope because Jesus paid our sin debt and destroyed the power of death.
“We weep, our hearts break, our arms are empty
and our homes are silent,
but we do not grieve without hope.” 1
It is my heart’s cry that you know Jesus as your Redeemer.
He is our only hope.
Lots of love, Sharon
